These things take a while, but I am getting frustrated on always finding Z's with huge holes in them on some place. I keep getting, OH, yeah, I did not see that hole in my own picture, sorry, its not that bad. Or, the car is sold, sorry. Then there are the Did I mention it does not shift into gear? HAHA. Thus is the joys of Z hunting. I am really looking forward to finding that Z with a good body and good guts. I am willing to pay a fair price for it, and do not expect to find a perfect show car for 5000 bucks. I am far more realistic.If anybody has or knows of a good quality 240Z for sale in the 8-11 thousand dollar range, please let me know.. as I have run out of places to look on the net, and locally. I am calling down help from the Z powers that be. It will have a great home in a brand spanking new garage. And will be loved and driven and cared for. I live in houston, but I am perfectly happy to have a car transfered down here.Thanks fellahs. Keeping fingers crossed for some luck, as lately, I have had none. I didn't settle on a basket case (and there are MANY, as you know). My WIFE of all people found the Series I now semi-daily driven. Stored on the side yard of the PO for 12 years. he was moving and didn't want to move it. It didn't run, but the body was almost immaculate. It's a 20 footer, for sure, but I got her running!You'll find the right one. Sooner if you are willing to fix the big stuff like rust and years of neglect/misuse. I need an immaculate body, as anything that has to do with respraying or repainting is out of the question. I don't have the space to strip a car down, nor the time. Anything mechanical I can fix. I do not worry about that. I am not in a position to take car down and get it ready for paint.I will keep looking... the journey is part of the fun right!? RIGHT!!!? The only bad thing I see is the damage to the rear valance, but considering it's rust free, that is minor. The car was clean and rust free, but did require a repaint.Consider budgeting a few hundred dollars for a quick day trip to inspect a car outside your area.Be patient, have your money "in-hand" and be ready to pounce when the right car comes along.Good luck with your search! cunniwj Posted May 21, 2008 Share #11 Posted May 21, 2008 "Patience grasshopher all things will happen in due time" I was lucky to find my 72 after along time waiting to find the right one, only to find it a few miles from my house for sale by a retired professer who restored it in 96 and kept it garaged all that time and only put 10,000 miles on it. bought it for less than your willing to pay. My son recently bought a 73 in good shape for $7'000 not all stock oringinal but a good looker. They out there but you have to be patient. But you need to know once you buy it you will always be putting money into it, it's part of owning a first generation Z. And for the money and time it takes to fix the mistakes, it's almost not worth it unless you want to learn every bolt on the car.When you finally find the one you want, you can rest assured it was your choice to get her, and you'll be happier with the results.
