Carl Beck Posted May 26, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 26, 2008 The Hunting Beach Concours is Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June 2008. They are accepting Datsun 240-Z's this year and looking to get more representatives for the Class on Sunday. They even have two Classes into which your "Classic Z Car" can be entered. "Concours" (for non-driven cars) and "Street" for pure stock 240-Z's that are driven weekends/pleasure. This is a significant show.. and a chance to show off your Classic Z Car.See: http://hbconcours.org/Contact Bart McGrath at 714-960-2100Many people have been working hard to get the Datsun 240-Z's into this type of event. So take the car cover off - and get out there...FWIW,Carl B. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28238-hunting-beach-concours-31may1june/ Share on other sites

Goose52 Posted May 26, 2008 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2008 I better not take my car there or they won't let 240Zs in the show after that !Seriously, there are some worthy cars here in SoCal that could make a good showing for us - I hope some of you with the really nice cars attend this event ... xray Posted May 26, 2008 Share #5 Posted May 26, 2008 That's big news, Carl. It's not Pebble Beachyet, but coupled with the Amelia Island Concours showing it looks like a growing acceptance of Japanese imports at the top end of the car show circuit. Bodes well for all of us.Uncork the Queens! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28238-hunting-beach-concours-31may1june/#findComment-248891 Share on other sites
bobc Posted May 27, 2008 Share #6 Posted May 27, 2008 Seriously guys and gals, the founder of the Z Car Club of Inland Valley and others have worked very hard to get our cars in several shows and the Huntington Beach Concours is one of them.He (club founder) received a call a couple of weeks ago saying that the show was concerned because not many Z cars had signed up.If we don't play, we won't be invited back to these shows! And, if we want to earn more respect for our marque we need to attend shows both within and even more importantly outside of Z shows.I wasn't going because I entered both my cars last year, but based on Bart's message, I entered my 1970. It's a really good show. There was an Enzo and a Bugatti there last year. BTW, I think the deadline for entries was Friday, but call Bart anyway. You may can still get in!Hope to see you all there. NissanMaster Posted May 27, 2008 Share #7 Posted May 27, 2008 The reason there are very few entries appears to be the best 240z's are modified, when you see early s30's with concourse potential often there are flaws that most real driver/owners fix. I hope the Datsun's bring it home, but suspect you will discover better than bone stock examples are a general let down to non purists. :tapemouth Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28238-hunting-beach-concours-31may1june/#findComment-248943 Share on other sites
Ron Carter Posted June 2, 2008 Share #8 Posted June 2, 2008 The HB show was a good one. Well organized and well run. There were several race cars on hand and although we were relegated to the parking lot above the main show, it was a good time and my Z won best race car. There were several nice Z cars there, and one roadster. Next year I think I will bring the roadster.Best,Ron Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28238-hunting-beach-concours-31may1june/#findComment-249596 Share on other sites
Goose52 Posted June 3, 2008 Share #9 Posted June 3, 2008 Congrats Ron ! I've looked at your Z at a few Motorsport shows and always enjoy it. It's a nice "flashback" to a time when I was still young !!
