Hi everyone.

I am the proud owner of a 1971 240Z that I just moved form suny California to the Northland of Canada. It is in reasonable shape and only minor rust on it. I have a 1973 240Z in the garage right now that I am in the process of parting out/stripping down. The body and frame are rusted out but everything else is there. I also have a 1972 240Z that has been given to me and supposedly has a high performance engine, hiher compression pistons and 280 valves in the head. I have bought a rear disk brake kit off of ebay and will update the progress. I have removed the SU carbs off of the 1973 240Z and am looking for rebuild kits for them. I am putting in a Pertronix ignition and coil. I ordered a new weatherstripping kit. I also want to do the winshield wiper upgrade as well. I guess I should be taking pictures too so I will send those along when I can. Well hello again. Oh I am a Motorcycle Mechanic by trade but have been working on cars and trucks for a very long time.

Dave

Dave:

Welcome to the forum and Welcome to Sunny Alberta! Nice group of cars you have there.

There is quite an active Z cult (I mean enthusiast, oops...) group in Calgary, check out calgaryzclub.ca for details. Lots of support and help. Let us know what we can do for ya!

Dave: welcome, you will find this is by far the best site for help, information, ideas that you will come across. I am restoring a 73, have a rusted out 72 and have stripped two 71's for parts. It looks like we could possibly do some part trading sometime.

Hello out there:

I am in the process of building up a '78' 280Z. I have a '82' ZX L54 block which I want to mate to a N47 head. A high boost cam from MSA, 6-1 header, custom exhaust, 4.11 diff, and a '80's five speed. I know where I can get a used set of three Weber carbs, maniford, and linkage for $250.00. I plan on getting a different ignition system, cooling fans, and some mild head work. I know i will need a lot of tech help and advice and I am looking forward to sharing what little I can. I was a full time mechanic in my younger days. I owned a music store in Claremore OK, but I sold it six months ago. I am now getting ready to go into the ministry. The car is a hobby and labor of love. See ya. Jim
