Weasel73240Z Posted June 6, 2008 Share #13 Posted June 6, 2008 Your prospect sounds a lot like my 73, except mine only had 27K miles when I bought it. All original, life long New England car (garaged). Some minor rust, but otherwise just needed to be refreshed. I paid $3,800. After about another $4,000 this Winter, I'm almost done. axz351 Posted June 7, 2008 Author Share #14 Posted June 7, 2008 Here are some photos of the car I am lookingt at. From the responses here, I think the value of the car is $4-$5K? Turns out the battery tray is better than I thought. The owner had a piece of wood under the battery to raise it, not becuase it rusted out. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28341-the-age-old-question/?page=2#findComment-250007 Share on other sites
Carl Beck Posted June 7, 2008 Share #15 Posted June 7, 2008 Given the mileage and a one owner car - plus the pictures you present - I'd say it is more in the $7,500.00 to $8,500.00 range in the North East. With todays fuel charges you'd be looking at $2K at least to ship a car from the West Coast - plus the cost of you traveling out there to find/buy a car...A green 240-Z that was not nearly that nice sold on E-Bay for $13K a few months ago - I looked at the car and I know who bought it - If I lived in that area, and I wanted to 240-Z I wouldn't be at all afraid to pay $8K for it today... it'll be $10K next year.If the seller ask me, I'd tell him to put it on E-Bay with and opening bid of $6,800.00 and see where it goes from there.. A lot of people have been looking for good 240-Z's for a long time in the North East..FWIW,Carl B.FWIW,Carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28341-the-age-old-question/?page=2#findComment-250010 Share on other sites

BRE-240Z Posted June 8, 2008 Share #20 Posted June 8, 2008 Very nice looking car you have there. I love the white exterior/red interior combo. Congratulations and welcome! xray Posted June 8, 2008 Share #21 Posted June 8, 2008 Yep. Money well spent. Get the sound deadener off the floorpans ASAP and assess whether it's bad scaling or rusted through. That battery tray looks very manageable. Fenders are replaceable, probably should be by the looks of that last pic.Good choice. I'd say well bought!Welcome to the club!
