Loose "Eyeball" Vents

I just had my dash restored and I cleaned up the vents, including the housing for the end "eyeball" vents. The "fuzzy" stuff that held the "eyeball" vent in place is now pretty much destroyed due to aga and cleaning. Any suggestions on what I can use to hold the vents in place so they don't move all around?

Visit any craft store and get some thin black felt, glue strips of it in symetrically and radially through the socket-use something like Duco Cement, or apply contact cement to the felt allow it to thicken up and then position it.
