iamtosher Posted June 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2008 I have a 1980 280ZX that the alternator went out. At least I thought that was what it was. I took it to a local garage here in Dallas. They called me 3 days later and said they had tried 2 rebuilt alternators from a rebuilder they have used for many years and neither one of them will charge. They checked with a local foreign car specialist and he told them they would need a wiring schematic/diagram because the problem may not be the alternator. I've got to have the car towed next week about 50 miles to a mechanic who specializes in Z cars. Has anyone out there had a similar problem and how did you fix it.iamtosheriamtosher@gmail.com Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/28579-help-help-help/ Share on other sites
sblake01 Posted June 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2008 There's three fusible links and a couple of other things in the charging system that may cause problems.
