Recently joined, this is a great club and from reading looks like there is a ton of info here. I finally was able to upload some pics of my 78 Z. I do have a question (or two) about the pwr antenna. Was this a standard item on the car when new? The guy I recently bought my car from said the pwr antenna didn't work right, so he just installed a fixed one. Is the pwr one difficult to install? I just ordered the book by Wick Humble about restoring your Z car (got that info on this site - thanks). So before the book arrives, just wondering what's involved in the pwr antenna.

Thanks!

Mike

A Power Antenna was a standard item, the true Nissan Part is expensive, and not the easiest part to find, but there are several afftermarket ones that work there are several threads in the archives about replacements.

I'll see if I can't round up the pertinant page(s) from the '78 FSM.

You can frequently find a used one on ebay for <$100. I bought and installed one two years ago. The vendor had it cleaned up like new and it works fine.

To install: the biggest nuisance I found was the removal and reinstallation of the interior panelling to get at it. The rest was pretty easy. You'll need some interior plastic rivets (ebay as well) to complete the job - best get them befor you take it apart.

Good luck
