tibZ Posted August 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2008 It's been 28 years since my last Z and I just picked up a 73 240Z about 20 miles from my house. 110K original miles and matching numbers, 4 speed. If I'm lucky I see one about every 3 years here in northeast Mass. This one has it's last inspection sticker from 1985 still on the windshield. It's been in his garage for 23 years. It's a project, which is what I was looking for, but what I would consider minimal rust for a New England car.First course of action is to start stripping her down and take it from there. I figure about 2 years of puttering with it will get me a respectable summer driver. zbane Posted August 23, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2008 Well congratulations! Now, as you know, we all want to see pictures. I imagine that you will have your work cut out for you, but having found a car that has sat for that long and avoided all those years of usage and salt, should make the job a bit easier.Let the fun begin! It turns out that even 'Super Moderators' can't change a username. We'll need to wait for Mike. MEZZZ Posted August 24, 2008 Share #10 Posted August 24, 2008 Congrats, 2 years was my estimate as well, and ALOT more $ than I should be spending to be sure...but it will be worth it to have a decent driver. Like you, not many Z's around here, I have seen 3 in the past couple years. (not counting the bargain '74 I looked at a couple weeks ago, $1500, might have considered $150...maybe ) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/29146-well-i-finally-bought-0ne/#findComment-257786 Share on other sites

You won't have to deal with it being temporarily not available.http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html Edited August 24, 2008 by sblake01 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/29146-well-i-finally-bought-0ne/#findComment-257787 Share on other sites
