Blue is the answer to your question

L24 blocks were a mid blue colour. not too light, not too dark.

maybe a little darker that the blue used in this website (depending on your brightness settings of course).

Don't know if it had a name of where to get it though.

I read a post some time back, can't remember where, but "Old Ford Blue" is about as close you can get out of an autoparts store. I found some and it matches pretty close to the original color. In the post I read, the writer was showing his car, and a judge had asked how he got such a close color mix to the original factory color. Answer - "Old Ford Blue"

The color is Datsun Blue. If you want to get an exact match, contact Les or Dennis at Clsic Datsun Motorsports: http://www.classicdatsun.com/

This did some of the restored 240's for Nissan's Z Store Program. They sell it in rattle cans of heat resistant paint. It is isn't cheap if I recall, but this is as correct as it gets.
