Zak's Z Posted September 6, 2008 Share #13 Posted September 6, 2008 If you're going to get pics of that Z you found... get pics under the carpets of the floors, inside the wheel arches, the rear doglegs, inside the engine bay, under the battery at the firewall if you can, and the underside - frame rails, floors etc. Post them and everyone can take a look for you. Those pics in my gallery arent recent, I just went down to see the car at the body shop and essentially it needs to be blocked one more time then its going in the paint booth. I guess I should update and add some recent pics. Jumbo Jet Posted September 6, 2008 Author Share #14 Posted September 6, 2008 I'll get a bunch of pics of that car tomorrow. The car seems pretty trashed and I have no intentions of finding the owner and making an offer, but it was a great unexpected treat to have found it while I was driving around looking at river flooding (we live in the area of Florida that was affected badly by Fay a few weeks ago). I'll do what I can to get those shots you wanted and it'll be fun to go get a close look at it. I hope you did not have too much damage to your property. Hope we'll be spared this week Ike does not look to good. Hope he does'nt beat on us like he did Tina. Good luck on your restoration project. A lot of time and $$$$$. Since you're doing it yourself that's great unlike me i have to depend on someone. Hope he does'nt beat on us like he did Tina.I had to laugh at that one even though you're talking about a pretty serious situation. Remember, Tina came out much better in the long run after the experience. Good luck down there, guys. He's supposed to give Miami and the Keys a good beat down though....... Cat 4 when he hits, thats some serious sh!t.We stayed pretty dry at our house but many many houses close to us had waist deep water in their living rooms. I cant even imagine how thats gotta feel.Chacha, where are you at, were in DeBary. I've been looking for a Z club that meets once a month or something, but cant find any. You know of any in the Orlando area. If you do we'll have to meet up.Mark Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/29293-new-member-just-wanna-say-hi/?page=2#findComment-259515 Share on other sites
chachacourt Posted September 6, 2008 Share #18 Posted September 6, 2008 Same here my friend, I have been looking for one too. My dream is to make the Z West Coast National that they have every year in April, but that's just a dream. I am also looking for something in Orlando or Tampa. Tampa is our best bet. I think there a club there and they have races or meets at the Sebring Motorsport off of 98, I think that's the road or behind it. That will be my homework this week and will get back with you. I am Stuart, Martin County. I thought you were in St. Lucie county. Faye gave us a bunch of Tornados and very minor floods able to get out with SUV's. Faye gave us a bunch of Tornados and very minor floods able to get out with SUV's.I spend a lot of time down there snook fishing, especially Jupiter. At least we're within a couple hours driving distance. I'll do some more digging around here and see if I cant find a good Z club up here. I never got to go back to the 240 I found cause it was getting dark and I had to get my truck washed. I'll go tomorrow, my buddy with the 280 wants to go with me........ I've got him all fired up on starting a 240 project car. Jumbo Jet Posted September 7, 2008 Author Share #22 Posted September 7, 2008 Aw man, that engine looks awesome. How did you get the cover so polished? Did you do that or take it some place or buy it new like that? It looks like chrome. Nice work. chachacourt Posted September 8, 2008 Share #23 Posted September 8, 2008 Hey Thanks, Like I said in other threads my problem is lighting a fire up my mechanic/body guy's a...ss to get things going. It's not a $$ issue. I should be driving this a long time ago. I took the valve cover to a chrome guy in West Palm Beach, not far from downtown. It was a few years ago, I dont think i spent more than $100. I've seen some nice looking one on ebay for about the same price too, so that's an option. check out my thread in exhaust and let me know what you think, sometime next month or two I will go to exhaust shop.
