Anyone looking for an uncracked dash from a 73 240z?

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm glad to see that someone from the site was able to get the dash and maybe other people will pick up some other parts for a good price. Hopefully the dash survives shipping without damage.

Douh!! A little too late. I am also interested in a crack-free '73 dash in case anyone else spots one.

Just in case anyone has some leads, use this forum or my other email;

Much appreciated.

Well, the money has changed hands. I had a friend from my Porsche life go over and give it a looksee... Jon lives 5 miles away and he said it took him just a few minutes to get there. He called me from the guys garage and said the dash is perfect. I sent the money and Jon will take it to UPS to be packed, shipped, and heavily insured.

Now, I just have to get together an interior party to put in the new dash and the plastic and vinyl trim. I planned on redoing my seats in the next couple weeks. Mat? Local Z dudes??? Burned cow-flesh and beer is on me!

Arne,

Since the gas prices went up I have been daily-driving the RT. Darned if I didn't fall in love with it again... My wife keeps saying "isn't it too cold to ride" Nah!!!

You should rebuild that K. There is a market for old Beemers. I want an older one myself.

Now to get the darn thing home from Seattle to Sacramento. The shipping price is almost as much as the dash cost. I may have to drive up there as I don't trust UPS or FedEx to get something that rare to me in one uncracked piece.

Anyone driving from Seattle to Sac soon?

Actually, that would be perfect. I know several 914 guys in Eugene and it is a quick one day up one day back trip. Back in the day, I probably could have gone up and back in a day. Ahh the idiocy of youth...

This thread was started in mid-November but I wanted to get you all an update. Just a few minutes ago, one of my Porsche buddies from Portland Oregon pulled out of my driveway after driving down with my dash that has been cuddled in a blanket in a friends garage in Seattle for a couple months now. He ran some other parts down and will run some parts up as well... I cannot tell you how perfect this dash is. Not only is it in like new condition, it has all the gauges in place, all the pull switches and such and they are perfect as well... Darn thing even comes with a brand new, never installed glove box door. That will have to find a new home because I intend to use the Katayama autographed one I got in the Datsun Heritage Museum Auction...

Special thanks to Mike for the heads up! I hope you all find a dash this nice and at such a great price...

Now how about some help getting this interior installed? Guys???
