How to visually ID a FS5C71-A transmission?

Anyone have any tips on identifying a FS5C71-A early five speed from pictures? I've got a possible lead on one, but the seller doesn't know for certain what it is. From the description so far, it is definitely a Type A (w/monkey-motion linkage). But past that...

If I can get pictures, what do I need to look for to know for certain what it is?

No, that thread appears to be about the later Type B transmissions, which are totally different than the Type A 'boxes.

Arne - do you have the How to Modify 510/240Z book (not exact title) - there is a photo in the section on transmissions. I put one in 30855 back in '71 (from Datsun Competition). Unfortunately, sometime over the years, it was replaced with one from a 280ZX by the folks I had sold her to. That was one of the first things I looked at when she arrived "home" this past August. I suppose something went awry and they just swapped rather than trying to find parts to repair. I had it geared like the 2000 roadster.

I have the book. There are other pics, I can scan also. If it does prove to be a FS5C71-A maybe the seller will have a lead on a 3.90 R180 that was possibly matched up with it.

I have four or five FS5C71A gearboxes in my garages. If you need any detail photos I could possibly drag one out into the light tomorrow and pop some shots of it.

Hi Arne,

I do not know this can be helpful for your question,I attached the FS5C71-A of my Z432.

The housing of the clutch plate area is different,but I think others are the same for L-series engines. To look carefully around shift lever basement is the good point of this transmission.

They were used on several S30 models in the rest of the world, only through the end of the '71 model year. Or so I understand.
