I thought Spanish for locksmith was 'cerrajerÃa'.EDIT: Never mind....I guess you meant REFACCIONARIA as in parts store. EScanlon Posted November 23, 2008 Share #14 Posted November 23, 2008 Hey David, that's right! He might also be able to head down by the Torre Latinoamericana and check out the side streets back there. If he couldn't find it there.... he wouldn't be looking.Maybe Unkle can have a good time in the Zona Rosa, then he can chortle about paranoia.... or better yet the zone on the opposite side of Ave. Insurgentes just towards Reforma of the Insurgentes Metro Station, or by the Angel.... after dark!It isn't paranoia if the threat actually DOES exist.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/30047-lost-my-keys/?page=2#findComment-267180 Share on other sites
Unkle Posted November 23, 2008 Share #15 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Easy now . At least I wasn't trying to flame someone....:classic:Any big city has it's problems , even here in sweet Victoria, but he was just talking about a freakin key being made , we're not selling a key ..... EScanlon Posted November 23, 2008 Share #16 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) Easy now . At least I wasn't trying to flame someone....:classic:That may be so, but the term "paranoia" deals specifically with delusions of persecution to the point of irrationality. If you have a basis for making such assertions, then your comment might be valid, but without such a basis, it is exactly that... an argumentative comment more commonly known as a "flame".If you or anyone you know has travelled to Mexico City, then you're familiar with the posted warnings by the U.S. Embassy regarding where, when, how, and what to avoid in Mexico City. Those warnings aren't there for S&G, they're real. Those warnings are because of the incidents that HAVE happened. The U.S. Embassy also puts out a pamphlet to residents of Mexico City regarding what and how to procure services while not exposing one's home to risk.If you have not travelled to the D.F., then your comment is based on ... what? It isn't based on first hand knowledge.Sometimes a snide remark causes you to be hoisted by your own petard.2¢E Edited November 23, 2008 by EScanlon Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/30047-lost-my-keys/?page=2#findComment-267216 Share on other sites
Unkle Posted November 24, 2008 Share #17 Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) Settle down already ! Jeepers you are so right, I don't have a leg to stand on . I obviously don't have any clue . Man you schooled me ! I guess I should have added a smiley or something. Have a nice day . Peace , O.K. ?And now I'm going to add to this as Enrique has decided, as a ''MODERATOR'' to step over the line with his big shot ways of talking down to someone . You , Enrique , deserve a shot . While you are up on your seemingly high horse , you fail to realize that you can't tell the tone by reading TYPED words . As a MODERATOR , you need to take a step back and realize others read these threads , and I was only trying to help . You have to be able to provide an inviting tone so others won't feel verbally lambasted for providing different opinions than yours ! This is an official complaint about you to those who care about this site . You have dragged this '' lost keys '' topic way off in to the bush , and you should at least right this and appologise to our members for going WAY overboard with your way of chastising others. GILDIA Posted November 25, 2008 Author Share #19 Posted November 25, 2008 Thank to all, It seems this topic arouse some confusion, but I preferred as Enrique said to take the lock to a locksmith and have the set of keys mede there, by the way I manage to take out the security bolt by applying some crazy glue on the tip of anoter screw and place it on top of the security bolt and then I just turned the screw.Thank you all for helping me out Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/30047-lost-my-keys/?page=2#findComment-267382 Share on other sites

MikeW Posted November 25, 2008 Share #21 Posted November 25, 2008 Wow, I am impressed. I would not have expected this to work. Nice Job!Al Same here. While there's not much tension on those bolts I still wouldn't have expected it to work that well. It should even work in reverse to put the old security bolts back in place since they weren't damaged. When I removed mine using the dremel tool method I was doing it to replace the entire set of locks with a new set. The new set even came with new security bolts which are installed with a wrench and then broken off to remove the bolt head. I still have those new security bolts lying around somewhere. I just used regular bolts instead since they were clearly fairly pointless. After all you only need a little crazy glue ... sblake01 Posted November 25, 2008 Share #22 Posted November 25, 2008 Yep, both of my cars have allen head screws replacing the security screws. I really don't think the security screws would do much to prevent your car from being stolen if that was really Nissan's intent for using them.:stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/30047-lost-my-keys/?page=2#findComment-267399 Share on other sites
