I am new to the site. I am a newbie to all this stuff. I am a married father of 3 kids ages 12,10,8. I recently purchased a green 1976 280z from the original owner with 119k. The body is in great shape and for the most part the engine too (except rotten vac lines). No rust on the vehicle but the owner let her sit for about year before deciding to sell her to me. I owned a 76 z as a kid and have been looking to replace it ever since. I am not a mechanic but am handy so I am going to start my new midlife hobby of fixing her up and driving her around. Then restoring her one part at a time over the rest of my life. I have my Manufactures Service Manual and my EFI bible and the internet, so my adventure begins now!:classic:

In the line up of things to tackle right off the bat, assuming it's running, I'd get the hydraulics cleaned out and freshened up along with (as you said) rubber lines in the engine compartment. Oh, and belts and hoses. Oh, and you need carbs. LOL

Welcome to the group. As was stated , there is a wealth of information to be tapped here. Sometime have a look at what has been discussed in the past by going to the search function and ask a question. More than likely there will be information there waiting for you. But if you want to ask here just go right ahead.
