Hey guys, new to the forum and the world of Z's but not new to the world of wrenching.

Just bought a '72 240 that needs a little bit of attention body-wise and interior-wise. The PO decided to "lighten it up" for drifting or some b.s. by taking out the back interior pieces which I think is about the dumbest thing you could do to one of these classic cars, I saved this one from demise :D

A little about myself; I live in Wichita, Kansas and grew up in Oklahoma on a farm, my old man is a mechanic so I grew up in the shop. I ran my own small engine/ATV/motorcycle/boat motor repair shop from junior high through college. Also worked in a machine shop that whole time as well. I am now a Mechanical Engineer. I have waaaaayyy too many toys, ranging from antique tractors and garden tractors to a 1953 M38A1 Willys military jeep (notice how I don't capitalize jeep, the new Jeeps aren't anything compared to what they once were), also have a '72 Wesco flat bottom drag boat with a Chevy skinny block, also have a '78 Chevy half ton with a fuel injected small block, fourwheelers, jet ski's etc...

So anyway, glad to be part of the forum and would like to thank you all in advance.

Justin

Justin-

Welcome aboard. Get ready for a great adventure working on your Datsun. This project will turn into a passion. There are not a lot of these cars around and thanks for saving this one. There is a ton of knowledge on this site with a bunch of great guys that can help. I would have to recommend to do a complete search on your project before you ask for help on any one topic. Most everything you are getting ready to come across has been covered at one time or another. If not, give a shout out and somebody can give an a responce with many more to follow.

Get some pictures up so we can see what you have and welcome.

Welcome Jusjofok: I'm just a half hour west, great distance for a shake down cruise, for either of us. The Branson Z Fest is the end of May, something to shoot for as Cousin David and I are going. We also have a few toys, between us a dozen Nissans, mostly Z's. He just picked up a 69 Patrol with 38K.

Will send a PM when I get off work.

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys :)

I plan on taking lots of pictures during the process of bringing this car back to a presentable condition, right now I am just trying to learn about the car and what the previous owners have unhooked and or neglected. Take the heater/ac controls, I pulled off that panel and to my surprise none of it was hooked up, no wires, no cables, nothing. No wonder nothing seemed to work...

Bonzi, thats a lot of Nissans! If you are ever headed this way let me know, maybe we can get together. The girlfriend and I are always out cruising around so maybe after a while when I trust the car we will head out to Kingman and let you know.
