Need Another Part # - Quarter Windows Front Seals

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have the part number for the rubber seals that screw onto the front of the quarter windows(in between the door window frame and quarter window)? I just discovered these seals and didn't know they even existed b/c they're missing from my 240z.

I have these seals for my 74 260 2/2. when i ordered from MSA they were listed as the same part number for the 240. Turns out BD sent me the wrong part so i got them from Charlie Osborne. But, mine don't 'screw in', they slide down a channel in the front of the 1/4 window. I have since decided to replace the whole seal, which now comes as a one piece, so I have those two surplus single seals and am happy to send them to you if they fit.

here are some pics: is your 240 the same?

I don't know what I was thinking, but there are not 3 screws on my quarter window. Here's a picture of the area where that seal is supposed to go. It looks like the man who owned it before me fabricated some kind of metal piece to put in there in place of the rubber seal. Is this factory or is there supposed to be a channel for the rubber seal to slide into.

The Nissan part numbers are:-

76837-N4500

76838-N4500

The have 2 screw hols at the top close together (like in your pictire) and one in the centre and a third further down. But the window does not have the screws there, so I figure I would need to glue them in as well as fix them at the top.

I have not fitted them yet as one side is a very tight fit between the door and quarter window.

My original, unrestored '71 (7/71 b.d.) did/does not have a seal there. That leading edge of the window frame is painted black. There are small glued-on rubber trims at the bottom, as I recall. No pictures handy right now, I'll try to remember to take pictures later tonight.

I think I recall that they didn't start using a seal there until much later than '71.
