sblake01 Posted April 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 19, 2009 What would a complete serviceable 78 console lid be worth to you? I have one that I'd just probably end up giving to whoever buys the car when I sell it. sblake01 Posted April 19, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 19, 2009 do you mean this?......http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/CARI think that one fits over an existing console lid. TomoHawk Posted April 20, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted April 20, 2009 (edited) What would a complete serviceable 78 console lid be worth to you? they go for about 50 bux, so I'd spend about 50 bux. Bryan offered to recover mine until it fell to pieces. I think I will cut an MDF frame for temporary use and stick a piece of foam on it, like a mock-up. There just won't be a latch on it. Too bad there is nothing, AFAIK from recent cars that would fit between the seats, or is there? It's in good shape, with all screws, springs, latch, etc. Can post pics if you'd like. Let me know. TomoHawk Posted May 15, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted May 15, 2009 do you mean this?......http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/CARThe description for that item isn't very clear. The hinged mount on the 72-78 units allows easy access to the console storage area, and provides a hidden compartment for small valuables. Does that mean this item is the (hinged) lid? Mr. Blake thinks that it fits over the oe console lid. The extra padding would be nice to lean on, but I think it would be in the way when you open the lid.I will ask them if they can provide some more photos or information to clear it up.thxZ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/31559-replacement-console-lid/#findComment-283832 Share on other sites
mtndude Posted June 1, 2009 Share #11 Posted June 1, 2009 Can someone post a picture of the hinge assembly on the underside of the lid for a '78? Mine has come apart over the last year and I'm trying to piece it back together. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/31559-replacement-console-lid/#findComment-285383 Share on other sites
sblake01 Posted June 1, 2009 Share #12 Posted June 1, 2009 John, I tried to take a pic of the one mentioned earlier in this thread but the detail of the underside doesn't show up very well because everything is black. You live fairly close. You're welcome to come by and take a look at it. Let me know.
