Noddle Posted January 7, 2010 Share #99 Posted January 7, 2010 It's a XM coupe, my brother wants to try and restore something "foreign".:stupid:My first car was a red XK Falcon, 4 door. nice old car, 250 xflow, Toyota steel 5 speed, Holden 3.08 diff, on gold 13 inch hotwire Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/31880-operation-240k/?page=9#findComment-305371 Share on other sites
KID-K Posted January 7, 2010 Author Share #100 Posted January 7, 2010 I'm thinking the XM will be an original restore, back to super pursit standards. Dave's putting the newest sedan together at the moment and I'm working on a disc barke conversion (front and back) for the sedan and trying to get my original tacho to work in the coupe (six coils is a bitch). Then we'll start chasing XM parts, It should be a much easier restore than the K's, I know you can buy almost everything new or repo......and not have to make it... Have you tried something like this, you will have to add some more diodes This is what I'm using for my EDIS (waste spark), to make my original 240K tacho work Nigel Edited January 9, 2010 by Noddle Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/31880-operation-240k/?page=9#findComment-305565 Share on other sites

KID-K Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #105 Posted January 9, 2010 found it, I tried bridging the signal between pin seven and pin 49 with a 10k resistor, but seem to have no signal out of 7. this curcuit uses the signal from all 6 coilpaks, let you know if this works!RevCounterCircuit.pdf Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/31880-operation-240k/?page=9#findComment-305590 Share on other sites

JMT240KGTR Posted January 21, 2010 Share #108 Posted January 21, 2010 Hey Kid K, absolutely awesome car mate, that is truly brilliant. What it cost you for the front chrome surrounds to restore?I'd be interested in a GTR grille as well, guess I can stay up to date on here and see when you get your hands on a mould.Great work, that'd have to be the best ever 240K coupe I've ever seen!James Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/31880-operation-240k/?page=9#findComment-306925 Share on other sites
