How much are the Z covers selling for?

At the risk of continuing the unfair advertising debate...

$157 US. Here is a link http://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=B&Category_Code=car_covers

-Mike

...Considering that BRE control the use of their logo and ( even ) their 'trademark' paint schemes - and charge people for the right to use them - I think a little bit of what's good for Paul is good for Peter too....., no?

Alan, for once we somewhat agree. I appreciate the information that it is available, but...

Anyway, I have said my peace. Anyone in the market have at it!

Laissez-faire I say!

I have to say, Alan, this last point I understand, and perhaps a vendor sponsorship would be a welcome addition to both parties. I agree the vintage nature of the Datsun related items they are selling and the strong tie-in with the demographics of this site would make a for a valuable relationship. Maybe a Vendor account would be something they had not thought of, instead of being seen as something they deem as unnecessary.

Alan, for once we somewhat agree. I appreciate the information that it is available, but...

But what?

Walter, I'm quite sure the truth of the matter is that we are very likely to see eye-to-eye on many more things than we don't.

Maybe that doesn't fit the 'script', but I'll bet it's true...... ;)

....and perhaps a vendor sponsorship would be a welcome addition to both parties.

I look forward to it. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for being receptive to my query on this. To my eyes, the first version of the thread did read like classic 'advertorial', but without the 'advert' that would justify (and pay for ) the 'editorial'.......

:)

Carl, I was surprised that it was a different design than the original one you posted pictures of in this old thread http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=211600&postcount=14. I asked the Brocks about it, but they didn't recall the type you have.

-Mike

Hi Mike:

Given the Brock's very active lifestyle, not to mention their travel schedule - I'm not surprised Gayle didn't recall - but these are the same pictures I sent to her a few years ago...

Yes - the original BRE Car Covers were 100% cotton, Blue in color with Black Graphics and very form fitting.

After 37 years and too many times in the washer - mine has faded a bit, but it is still in very good condition.

I'd have to say that the newer car cover materials can be far more effective in keeping the fine dust off cars stored inside.

FWIW,

Carl B.

I want to bitch that all this BRE repro stuff is lowering the value of original historic items that were expensive and difficult to obtain.

Hi Chris:

I was looking at the BRE2.net site - and other than a couple Posters and inexpensive Decals, I was wondering what BRE historic items that were expensive and difficult to obtain you were thinking of?

The new car cover can't be confused with the original IMHO... the BRE Spooks and headlight covers have always been reproduced or otherwise available. The BRE remote oil filter blocks and BRE/InterPart catalogs are about the only thing that comes to mind as having been expensive and difficult to obtain.

What am I missing?

FWIW,

Carl B.

Why tease your Z like that,

Don't you know a 240Zs first solid food was a Porsche 911!

Atleast now she will get some proper covers!

Will

Shhh... My Z thinks she stole that cover after she bullied the 911 and ate it's lunch. :)
