soundmasterg Posted June 13, 2009 Share #13 Posted June 13, 2009 How is the tailgate hatch? Mine is too rusty and the defrost is broken, so I'm looking for a better one that has good glass and defrost. Idaho isn't too far away if the price was right for the hatch. (I'm in Oregon)Also, how about the choke cable? Mine is broken. Thanks,Greg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32160-1972-240z-rip-and-what-to-keep/?page=2#findComment-286598 Share on other sites
IdahoKidd Posted June 13, 2009 Author Share #14 Posted June 13, 2009 Greg,The hatch was great but is now gone. The choke cables are good but the knob is busted up. I can get a pic later this evening.Leonard Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32160-1972-240z-rip-and-what-to-keep/?page=2#findComment-286603 Share on other sites
texasz Posted June 13, 2009 Share #15 Posted June 13, 2009 Any decision on the battery tray area? Depending upon price I would want it. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32160-1972-240z-rip-and-what-to-keep/?page=2#findComment-286609 Share on other sites
vercingetorix Posted June 13, 2009 Share #16 Posted June 13, 2009 The roof is in good shape, as is the head liner. The trick would be the shipping. Where on the planet are you? Santa Fe,NMShipping is probably prohibitive Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32160-1972-240z-rip-and-what-to-keep/?page=2#findComment-286614 Share on other sites

Mikes Z car Posted June 14, 2009 Share #19 Posted June 14, 2009 How many hours is the drive from Boise to Moscow as I am in Boise? Are any exterior emblems (where it says DATSUN), drivers door mirror, rear view mirror available? I also have an interest in the roof to get rid of a sunroof, I feel similar to your local person on the work involved, don't know how to cut off a roof (sawzall?). Can the headliner be removed and put back on, I am not sure who might know that though. soundmasterg Posted June 14, 2009 Share #20 Posted June 14, 2009 Greg,The hatch was great but is now gone. The choke cables are good but the knob is busted up. I can get a pic later this evening. Leonard Hi Leonard, Damn on the hatch! I have a good knob on the choke in my car, but my cables are broken, so your setup might work for me. Pics would be great. I might be interested in the roof also if the other guy doesn't go for it, but depends on if its rust-free or not, and I'd have to figure out how to get it from there to here for not too much $$. I've got a sunroof to get rid of also and I do have a donor roof that has some rust, but I'm hoping to see the body shop guy who would be doing the work tomorrow at the Canby show and I can ask him about mine then. Mikes Z car Posted June 14, 2009 Share #21 Posted June 14, 2009 Greg, Assuming I was in the running for the 240z roof, you may have it before me if you wish. If you can't get it I will take a run at it if it is available to me, I live about 4 hours or so from where it is. Hopefully I can get the side mirror. There is a local guy here who has at least 30 early z parts cars but doesn't advertise them. Perhaps 20 or so are in a barn; the gentleman who has them inherited them. His business name is Idaho Z car and it is in Nampa Idaho. He won't sell to me though. I think I made him mad at me because I wasn't interested in buying an expensive coil upgrade from him. My car is stock right now; even has points, I may put the pertronix back in that was in there when I got the car, that is my idea of a performance upgrade heh heh.Have a great day,Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32160-1972-240z-rip-and-what-to-keep/?page=2#findComment-286686 Share on other sites
IdahoKidd Posted June 14, 2009 Author Share #22 Posted June 14, 2009 I am going to hang on to the title and the vin plates, you know, just in case. There is one the inside of the passenger fender and one on the body in the door opening. Any others I should capture? soundmasterg Posted June 16, 2009 Share #24 Posted June 16, 2009 Hey Mike,Go ahead on the roof if you can get it. We had the Canby Datsun show here this last weekend and I met someone who has a great roof and its local to me and the price is right, so I'm going to get it from him instead.Greg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32160-1972-240z-rip-and-what-to-keep/?page=2#findComment-286846 Share on other sites
