novy Posted August 15, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted August 15, 2009 Hey guys! Sorry for letting you wait a bit. Here are the pictures of our 2000km trip all across France! We had a truely amazing time there and we both fell in love with France and it's people. The car held up well. During the ride on 'Route Napoléon' and on our way back over the Swiss alps, we found some of the most beautiful driving roads Enough said: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32527-the-260z-us-and-10-days-of-france/?page=2#findComment-291977 Share on other sites

=Enigma= Posted August 16, 2009 Share #17 Posted August 16, 2009 Looks like a great time. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully the hood was open in that one pic for nothing more than a normal fluid check or top-off. Skyblue280z Posted August 16, 2009 Share #18 Posted August 16, 2009 Why is it that in Europe the 240Z parking lights are situated ontop of the bumper? When I was in England a couple weeks ago a 240Z passed me and it had the same thing... I think the car looks funny like that ha... =Enigma= Posted August 17, 2009 Share #19 Posted August 17, 2009 I believe this is/was due to the vehicle codes over there. I've seen a few pics of UK 240Z's and you can see the lower turn signal openings in the left & right valence corners blocked off and turn signals bolted to the top of the bumper. That said, the car you saw could just as easily have been a 260Z as those were sold for many years outside of NA. Hard to say without a picture as a reference. Lazeum Posted August 17, 2009 Share #20 Posted August 17, 2009 I confirm Euro 240z has turn signal on top of the bumper, most likely for legislation issue.240z spec in Europe are quite different than the us ones:- Bigger front stab bar, rear stab bar- 5 speed gearbox- R180 3.9 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32527-the-260z-us-and-10-days-of-france/?page=2#findComment-292163 Share on other sites
novy Posted August 17, 2009 Author Share #21 Posted August 17, 2009 Nice pictures!Have you had some interest from the Frenchies with your Datsun? What was your feeling regarding it? We had a guy on a motorcycle following us through half of Grenoble, to then pull next to the car and give us a thumbs up Then in monaco an older bloke in a bentley "something" convertible waved us and held his thumb up as well. In general people upwards of 40 and children showed interest in the car. Some of them had a short chat with us at the fuel stations.
