Just to echo what MEZZZ said about making vinyl graphics....most sign shops can do exactly what he said. They can take your art work and blow it up to what ever size you need.

Very nice job on the garage floor!

I'm also thinking of using the Ucoatit but have been hesitant due to the large number of stains already on the floor. How difficult was it for you to prep/clean the floor or was yours already in good condition? My other issue is having to paint it in 2 steps; paint half, wait for it to dry and move everything to paint the other side. Do you think that will be an issue?

Greg

It is an honest 2-3 day job. 3 for sure if you use the clear coat. Of course I waited a bit longer than I had to between coats, but not much longer. I put my coating on my garage floor before I even moved in. The house was new, so I had virgin concrete. The kit comes with a muratic Acid etch to rid yourself of the oily mess. You just keep repeating that until when you spray water on the stain it does not bubble.

The instructions are very easy and I love the results.

I am not sure you could half the job. The epoxies are all two parters, and the cans are sized to be poured together. You would have to eyeball the mixes and hope you get them the same. You may want to call UCoatIt and ask.

I would advice doing it all at once if possible. I know that may be impossible.

Your garage floor looks great!

Once the Z is done, I'm thinking of doing something with mine, but my wife says I have to do the finish plaster & paint first...

I'm thinking of using a similar epoxy coat or perhaps a dimpled rubber sheet product like these:

Here's some good information from another forum that I frequent:

It's a great site for garage info btw:) (You can see some of the images without joining, but if they were attached to the site you have to be a member)

Here are a couple of pictures of mine post epoxy. I used the Costco Epoxyguard which appears to be a spin off of Epoxy Coat. It is available online only and you will not find it in the retail stores.

The devil is in the prep work but the epoxy goes on easy.

I liked the last one as it shows how much reflected light is on the ceiling. :)

+1 for the Garage Journal. Lots of good info on flooring over there.

Paul-

How tall is your ceiling in your garage? I do like the 2 post lift and currently my Z is at my buddies house with 12' ceilings up on the lift so I can replace my e-brake cable. Can you stand under it or do you have to squat a little? Somewhere in the future I would like to get one but I don't have a tall ceiling in my garage. Your garage looks great.

If I would stop spending money on my cars I would work on my garage!:stupid:

Mitchell, I used a "Lifted" scissor truss for the high bay area. It is 8' at the sidewall and about 36" in from the front and back walls it is 12'. The peak is over 16'. It was the only way I could maximize the upstairs storage area and still fit the lift in. If I had to do it over again, I would have given up 2'-3' upstairs and made the highbay a little wider. As it is now, the lift is not centered in the door so you have to pull in and then move left to get the car centered for the lift. That would have also given me some space to walk around the drivers side lift post. The shop is 24' deep and I also wish I had gone about 2' deeper as well. Oh well, next time maybe :)

I don't have to crouch for the Z's or any of the other cars but I can only lift my Chevy 2500 HD about 4' before the hood and camper shell encroach on the ceiling. Enough to change the oil and do some things underneath but it is a pain.

I should be doing just the opposite than you, spending more money on the cars and less on the shop :stupid:
