EricB Posted September 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2009 AlanI made it to the Revival on Saturday.Had to leave early on Sunday and couldn't attend Day3.Saw the GTR in the Earl's Court show.Looked absolutely immaculate - even more beautiful in real life than in the photos I had seen when you first received it...Wish I could have heard it too - maybe next time.Looked great in the middle of all the European vintage machinery.-e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33266-alans-kpgc10-at-goodwood-revival/ Share on other sites

26th-Z Posted September 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 21, 2009 Nice showing, Alan! Your car evidently did not need a model because it is so pretty by itself? Mike B Posted September 21, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 21, 2009 Wow! Your Skyline looks incredible Alan!Did the owner of the lime Z put up the walls with giant Z photos behind his car?-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33266-alans-kpgc10-at-goodwood-revival/#findComment-295339 Share on other sites
geezer Posted September 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2009 Wow! Your Skyline looks incredible Alan!Did the owner of the lime Z put up the walls with giant Z photos behind his car?-MikeHe must have, those are posters of that same Z. I recognized it as the car that was pictured in a Octane magazine article in April 2005. Still a beauty and keeping good company with Alan's car.Very nice Alan! HS30-H Posted September 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 22, 2009 AlanI made it to the Revival on Saturday.Had to leave early on Sunday and couldn't attend Day3.Eric!I wish I'd known that you were going to be there, as it would have been good to meet you. I could - at the very least - have given you a more 'personal' look at the car.I was at the Revival on Friday and Saturday, and was on the Nissan stand for a couple of hours or so on both days. It's a pity I wasn't there when you were. Are you still in the UK? I'll PM you with my phone number just in case you are. I'll buy you a steak!Nice showing, Alan! Your car evidently did not need a model because it is so pretty by itself?I don't think the budget would stretch to a model for the GT-R, but there were other nice young ladies in Sixties-style costume on the stand too. Whole thing with the Hakosuka was very last minute, and it only really came together less than a week before the event. It was actually the UK 'launch' / debut for the Z34 '370Z' Roadster, too. Did the owner of the lime Z put up the walls with giant Z photos behind his car?Actually, that car belongs to NMGB ( Nissan Motors Great Britain ) and they commissioned its restoration with a UK specialist a few years back. It has done a huge amount of press activity in the UK, with many many journalists test driving it - so I'm surprised that it's still in such good condition, really.Spot the ( deliberate?! ) 'mistake' with the orientation of the front indicator repeaters on the sides of the front wings / fenders? They are mounted 180 degrees to the way that they should be, and this has been pointed out many times to them. Nobody seems to have a screwdriver in their hand at the right time, though.......Thanks for the nice comments about my car :classic:There are some really nice photos of the Goodwood Revival Meeting being put up on the 'net now. I took some shots myself, but nothing as good as these, for example:Stefan Marjoram: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefanmarjoram/sets/72157622426011398/ 'richebets':http://www.flickr.com/photos/richebetspics/sets/72157622404890046/Cheers,Alan T. preith Posted September 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 22, 2009 I never tire of seeing the car, beautiful, and thanks for the photo links Alan. A dream venue of mine, I hope to make it there one of these years. The sounds of vintage race cars at speed AND Merlin powered aircraft.. heaven! EricB Posted September 26, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted September 26, 2009 Phillip et al,You guys HAVE to go to the Revival.PERIOD.I have been going to Monterey Historics religiously for 16years, yet this was my first time attending the Revival and it was simply spectacular. The period clothing, the bikes and scooters, the airplanes, and of course the cars make for an amazing experience.I was almost a bit overwhelmed when I first got there...It's so very worth it.I booked accomodations late and closest I could find was a B&B in Brighton on the seafront which turned out to be pretty good. Most odd car I saw on the drive to the track Saturday morning had to hands down be an 80s two-tone Chevy Caprice... really clean too... but it looked SO FOREIGN on the b-roads leading to Chichester where the Revival is held... too shocked to take a pic, really...Oh and for the tourists: Stonehenge is about 90min away to the northwest. We went after Saturday's racing wound down - and got there 15minutes after it closed... we were surprised to see it had visiting hours - guess we could have thought of that one too a bit more...so without me rambling on, make plans to attend the revival next year - it's well worth it!!!!-e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33266-alans-kpgc10-at-goodwood-revival/#findComment-295779 Share on other sites
