I am going to rewire all the electrical connections from my ignition, resistor, coil, etc. I can go to Pepboys, Oriely's etc and get some wire, but I was wondering if anybody has a good source of bulk high quality wiring, with good insulation.

Zs-ondabrain, I am looking at you.. haha;)

Zs Ondabrain might know better sources, but I can recommend marine-grade wire to you, which you can buy through sellers such as WestMarine. It's meant to stand up to far more abuse (heat, moisture, chemical) than automotive wiring. If possible, get the tinned variety of wire, which won't corrode like the bare copper. (I doubt you can get that in marine grade, though.)

I've used this outfit for connectors, but they don't sell wire.

Seems like there is another source that sells wire in all the normal colors, even with the tracer stripes. Can't find it right off hand, but it'll come to me eventually. (Probably long after someone else has found it!)

If you have a business license, I can direct you to all the wiring you can handle. The outfit is called Micro Alarm out of California. They only deal with Licensed Business's so if you got one, let me know and I'll send you the info.

Also keep Cycle-Recycle Part 2 in mind for your connectors and terminals. They are almost all I use for that end of my business. http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/Index_Main_Frame.htm

This is the only link I have that seems to have a bit of a selection in wiring styles and markings.

Rhode Island Wiring Service Inc

I have not purchased anything from them. If you do, let us know how they are to deal with.

I have bought a bunch of wiring stuff from these guys and it

was always top quality marine grade.

I have a 1982 zxt harness that I have been pecking away at for years. Connectors and good wire!

Try Waytek Wire.  I have purchased from them before with very good luck.  They have a very good selection (including marine wire if you choose) as well as lots of other useful electrical components.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike.

I called Waytek, to get a stripe painted its $10, then $.3641 per foot. Minimum feet required is 500'. I think I'll just buy  25' of white 8AWG and use a red paint marker and stripe in red, then on top place a WR indicator on it with a clear shrink wrap.
