Easy one first. The mags that he called "Per Spec" were made by "Performance Specialties", and were a very common dealer installed brand on the West Coast, especially in California. Yours are very nice shape, but note that replacement center caps are not available, so don't lose them.

Thanks for the info on these. The car is originally from Portland the story sounds right. I have see this type of wheel on other Z's but never with the center cap.

the Pirellis were bought in 1990 as the invoice shows, then a.) they must have been some of the very last P7s that Pirelli made; and b.) being almost 20 years old I wouldn't trust them for anything more than puttering around town. P7s were a high performance tire, and the carcasses were not designed for longevity. If it were me, much as I love seeing these truly period correct performance tires on the car, I'd plan to replace them forthwith. Will be a bit of a problem finding similar sizes these days, unfortunately.

I agree they are not up to their original snuff, and at this point I am not racing around too much, puttering as you say. Thanks for the input.

Terripin Z, that is a beautiful car. Welcome to the club!

Arne, when I first bought my Z in 2002 Tire Rack still listed the P7 as available on their web site. I remember because I always wanted a set of those and was impressed that they were still available. By the time the car was rebuilt enough to need tires they were NLA. I don't remember if it was a 14 inch or 15 inch size that they offered in 2002 however. I suppose they could have had a bunch of old stock on hand.

Love the car Dave. Definitely different and the mods look to be well executed. Those wheels look great as well.

Thanks Adam I had looked at a bunch of cars that people said were "clean" or "nice" and found a bunch of buckets. When the guy opened his garage for this one I knew I had found my ride. A lot of it is what I had in mind to do already.

I have the P/S wheels on HLS30-30855, dealer installed in Spokane. One difference is that the center caps are held on with 4 screws. I have a lot of elbow grease coming up to get them looking as good as yours.

I have seen these type of American Slots a lot and these are usually oxidized, which takes all the elbow grease to bring them back. The old owner had them polished and the slots blacked out, to give them a great look. Now all I have to do is keep up on the polish.

Thank you Walter

Well, I hope to meet you and see the car in person perhaps some time next summer. Perhaps at the Canby show.

I intend like to attend a Z show or gathering / drive next summer. When is the Canby show?

you could join Northwest Z....

I have looked at your club as well as the one in Seattle. both are 100 miles away and have meetings mid week that would be impossible to attend as I do have to work (to pay for my Zaholism)LOL

The Canby show is held in early June, the actual show itself is on a Sunday. When the date is announced there will be talk of it here on the forums.

There's also another yearly Datsun/Nissan show in August at Blue Lake park East of Portland. Typically one or two weekends prior to Labor Day.

I'm 100 miles South of the regular meetings, probably won't ever make it to many. But I do like to attend some of the cruises and other gatherings.
