Here are some pics of my car. I bought this last spring for $600. I spent this summer getting most of the mechanical issues straightened out so I could tackle the body work this winter. I am focusing on the engine compartment area for now. I did get the new floorpans in a few months ago though. I've never painted a car, "with correct materials" so I thought doing the engine compartment with base/clear would be a good place to start. Of course the painting is nothing compared to the prep work. I'm happy so far. This weekend I'll get the rest of the undercoating done, then I can start cleaning, painting, and polishing the engine. Then get it back in. Oh, and I have the urethane bushing kit and new one inch drop suspension all around. Lots to do. Can't wait!

How do I attach pics? I click "manage attachments" nothing happens.

Manage Attachments should work fine, or you can click the little paper clip to attach images and other files. Perhaps you browser was being finicky for some reason. When you say "nohting happens" what do you mean? Clicking Manage Attachments should pop open another window. Perhaps you need to allow popups or JavaScript for this site?

Yes, I've done all the work myself so far. I'm not going to do the exterior paint though. I know too many people who paint for a living and I will gladly pay them to get it right the first time.

What paint products were used in the engine bay?

Also, does a clear coat hold up in the heat of the engine bay? Just wondering about discoloration.
