Nice... I think we are starting to gather a crowd. We should have some kind of NorCal get-together. Perhaps drive the Berryessa to Napa roads and eat at that famous drive-in on 29.

I am confused though, you list Sacramento as your location but most of your pics are from the Fairfield area. I even recognize the damned Chevron you are parked at, Vacaville? That is Infinion by the way... Although judging by the shorts on the previous owner it was called Sears Point at that time!

Hey all thanks for the pleasant responses!

Berryessa is mainly the local party lake on weekends and quiet old men with aluminum boats the other four days. It has some great turns, but you'll get drunk drivers up there so its best left for a middle of the week schedule.

I haven't named the Z yet. Thats the hardest part. The previous owner (whom I talk to on a regular basis) used to call it "The Bad Load" haha. It obviously needs a female name. I'm partial to Christine, but thas best left for the 1958 Plymouth Fury I plan to own one day...

Good luck with that!! This is the ONLY 58 Fury, a Golden Commando - that I have seen at any shows in the last 20 years.

Personally - I love the 56 Fury the best.. but that's just me.

FWIW,

Yeah that Christine's pretty nice, so is that Golden Comando. What was the Golden part of it? Think there like 3 of those movie cars still running around, one of which is pretty jacked up from what i recall. You do know it never came in red right? :)

oifss2,

Its down for this summer! I'll make sure my car's ready. And that goes for anyone looking to take a cruise. And the drive-in on 29 sounds fantastic.

The Fury linewas not offered in red, however the Belvedere (a base model version) was offered in a Toreador red... but even still those did not come equipped with the famous red dash pad. The interior for Toreador red cars used red and black for the interior.

The "Golden Commando" included a more "High Performance" 318 V8 w/ twin carburetors. I believe thats what I read when I first drew interest...

Anyway, I would prefer the Belvedere. That Buckskin Beige is to much for me.
