vord Posted January 29, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2010 I only speak two words of Spanish but I do like the word Hola as it seems very friendly to me. I'll include the other word later in the post Currently fixing up a shell that came in to the UK from the states and turned out to be much messed around with. I've only just started. This is the shell as it arrived: But it's muchos bent following poor repairs after a roll. So a chassis jig is needed for straightening. That was the job for this week (and I'll finish it at the weekend) but here's a sneak preview: I'm new to the Z world. So just a hi and how are you all. Might be able to post progress on here but (you guessed it) there might be a big gap as I've been asked to work in Spain for 4 months. Anyone recommend fast learning courses to increase my word count? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34589-hola-guys/ Share on other sites

lbpdz Posted January 30, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 30, 2010 Currently fixing up a shell that came in to the UK from the states and turned out to be much messed around with.So you are another lucky person who got your hands on a rust free California, low mile export car?Hopefully one day, people will start to properly represent what they are selling.Everyone is thankful though for people like yourself who don't give up on on these shells and bring them back to life.. 70 Cam Guy Posted January 30, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 30, 2010 Welcome! Looks like a real project but sounds like you're well on your way I have heard good things about the Rosetta Stone software but I think it's somewhat pricey. Maybe your company will cover it?http://www.rosettastone.com/It looks like they have Spain Spanish and Latin America Spanish. My coworker's girls are using it to improve their Spanish (he is from Venezuela) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34589-hola-guys/#findComment-307920 Share on other sites
vord Posted January 30, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted January 30, 2010 I've not come across that course before - thanks I'll look into it. Will probably also take a week immersion course and night class if the job happens. Yes - it's a rust free Californian export. An importer brought it over and a friend bought it by accident on eBay. A lot of the nastier stuff was hidden by half an inch of bondo. The worst bit is the roof. But it is mostly rust free. I'm doing a write up of the project on http://www.vord.net/cars/240z/ (there are dimensions for the chassis jig on there if anyone wants them) but the project won't start getting fun until the jig is finished and I can start replacing the damaged and botched parts. vord Posted January 30, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted January 30, 2010 I'll post some photos on here as I go along. Presumably the 240Z body and paint section is the best place. It'll be unusual stuff though.Finished the chassis jig today. Will most likely be cutting through a lot of the parts I'm planning to replace to get the shell into the right shape prior to replacing a lot of parts.
