norcaljimbo Posted February 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2010 i got a r200 diff from the junkyard. seems to be a really tight rear end. great shape.. i cracked the drain plug loose. and the oil that is in it is really really clean. but i noticed, its red. witch led me to believe it was atf. but after smelling it and rubbing my fingers thru it, it is for sure gear oil. has anyone ever seen a redish gear oil? Oiluj Posted February 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2010 Redline MT90. Good Stuff! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34621-gear-oil/#findComment-308240 Share on other sites
Arne Posted February 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2010 Not MT90 in a diff, or I hope not. MT90 is a GL4, but diffs need GL5. Probably Redline Synthetic 75-90 Gear Oil. MT90 is for transmissions. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34621-gear-oil/#findComment-308244 Share on other sites
