TBone028 Posted April 9, 2010 Share #63 Posted April 9, 2010 25 feet of part number 1120A331 from McMaster-Carr. http://www.mcmaster.com/#1120a331/=6l3xfmI would not hesitate to recommend this as another option. For me, my doors were difficult to close due to overly thick weatherstripping. The McMaster-Carr weatherstripping fit perfectly and took about 40 minutes total to test-fit, cut to length, and securely install on both doors. Initial leak test showed zero leaks and my doors now close perfectly with just a light push.Post and reviews from other folks on the weatherstripping here:http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/83080-new-weatherstrip-alternative/page__st__40 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34633-kia-sportage-weatherstip-rocks/?page=6#findComment-315500 Share on other sites
GeeZ Posted June 29, 2010 Share #64 Posted June 29, 2010 What model of the Sportage is this ws from? The info I am finding shows that the Sportage comes in 2 door and 4 door. Mike Posted June 29, 2010 Share #65 Posted June 29, 2010 Whoa, what happened to Hybrid? Did they sell the business? Looks like a lot more ads and some interesting forum software. Inf Posted December 28, 2010 Share #69 Posted December 28, 2010 Took a while, but my pair of Kia seals finally showed up over the holidays. The Nissan OEM gasket on the drivers side is fine currently, but the passenger side needs to be replaced. My rear hatch inner seal, however, is worn out and seems to have a small gap on the lower passenger side.Has anyone here followed through on replacing their inner hatch seal with the Kia door seal, like zKars showed was possible? Just wondering how it turned out before I commit a seal to trying it myself. I've got a Precision hatch seal I ordered from BD a few years ago that I haven't used yet, mainly because I'm wanting to avoid the difficulty other posters have reported in installing the OEM style gaskets. warcmalla Posted December 28, 2010 Share #70 Posted December 28, 2010 I used the Kia ws for the inner hatch seal and I think it works great. Gluing weatherstripping is such a pain so being able to just push it on is quite nice. I haven't had any hatch sealing or closing issues. steve91tt Posted December 28, 2010 Author Share #71 Posted December 28, 2010 Same here. The Kia stuff worked great on my hatch. A little massaging of the sheet metal lip was necessary to get it to fit perfectly but I think that may be an issue with my specific car. Inf Posted December 29, 2010 Share #72 Posted December 29, 2010 Sounds good, guess I'll dive right in. The OEM-style gasket on there keeps the rain out, but I'm not sure it keeps the exhaust fumes out, hopefully this works out a little better Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/34633-kia-sportage-weatherstip-rocks/?page=6#findComment-340104 Share on other sites
