If you haven't driven the car since 1976, Why would you keep paying for the plates? Maybe i'm just too green to have the inside info, but the car in those pics up there still has a tag on the front. :I please correct me if this sounds Stupid

He sent me a couple of pictures, i will share with you. He also said what was stamped into the door plate: "7/71 and the 7 is stamped in the plate" He sent me larger versions of the ones in the ads too.

Ahhh...so maybe he does have the original battery after all? (although I couldn't tell anyone what an original looked like, as I've never seen one...:D )

I also like the pic of the original positive battery cable clamp and rubber cap that Arne talked about in another thread.

So the car is the same month as my red car. Just fewer miles, in theory. The pictures are enough to justify a closer look, if I were really looking for another clean 240.

If you sold the red Z, you would be able to defer most of the purchase price (once you negotiated him down to a reasonable sale price) :) Heck, you might even be able to do an even trade with him since you car would be more "marketable" at this point (I think we need a devil smiley to put here)

Wow, this may be the real deal. But not driven since 76 worries me. The car would need new brakes, new rubber seals just about everywhere, the engine may need to be broken free, the carbs will be toast sitting that long with fuel in them. Not saying it is not worth a serious look. But I think for 19000 dollars it would have to be running and drivable. The seller could do a lot of good for himself if he would get it reliable and then tried to sell it. As it sits now, I would not offer him 10000 for it. A car that does not run is a bee's nest full of potential problems to me.

Does that 19500 seem just too perfectly centered? Maybe I am stirring things up, but something about seems too dead center.
