Bear in mind that unless you use air horns inside the pod filters to smooth the air flow, you will LOSE performance and make it difficult to tune your carbs properly. The air horns inside the factory air box are very efficient and do a good job.

Most any of the normal online suppliers will be happy to sell you the pod filters - MSA or Black Dragon are the two obvious choices.

Agreed. If you go with the individual filter elements, either buy air horns, or use the horns from the air cleaner base. Some people cut the stock horns out of the air cleaner base around the mounting holes and use those inside the open element filters. I didn't have the heart to do that to an original base so I stuck with the air cleaner assembly. Some people even sell their old cutout horns, which are usually economical options.

Another point in favor of the stock box is the fact that the "snorkle" allows for pulling cooler air in from forward of the engine. Rhe individuals sit open right above the exhaust manifold and the heat it produces.

And as stated the stock air horns are pretty darned effective.

well i been convinced :) im gonna stick with my big orange can and possible order the bigger one from ztherapy and the cones would be nice but stock sounds more efficient.

thanks alot for the advice and opinions it helped out and now i just gotta focus on getting a better exhaust and a set of headers

again thanks for the help
