2ManyZs Posted November 28, 2002 Share #3 Posted November 28, 2002 Of all the members I would have expected you to be one of the last to get rid of your Z. After all you went through to get it, what made you decide to get rid of it so soon. Or is the yellow "blinding" you? :cross-eye Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/3658-1971-240z-excellent-condition/#findComment-19912 Share on other sites
ZmeFly Posted November 28, 2002 Author Share #4 Posted November 28, 2002 i love the car, i really do:love: but when it comes down to it making the changes making it faster and putting all the work back into another Z. i just dont know. im getting a lot of flack from the old lady too. :tapemouth plus insurance on two cars for me. time i spend working on it. then not being able to drive it like now were under snow so it sits and i hate to see a car sit. who knows really, shes sweet beautiful, fun, but then i think of doing all that work again like the last one. and then having something happen to it. i dont know if i could do that again to yet another. i mean my black 72 had lots of cash into the engine and suspension. just to have someone smash it. then it was hit and run. figuring costs for a turbo convert and to have someone wreck this one too. i have about 500+ just in the parts i have now. engine 350, then fuel pump 150, good gas tank say 150, new lines and hoses, new injectors 300+ new exhaust even if i make it about 250, just to much money to spending on a car and have it all taken away again. maybe im just down about doing so much or seeing my work of art get destroyed. id much rather have something im not so worried about. guess thats it i just dont know. Listen, if we were all afraid of the possibility of something bad happening to us... we'd probably never leave the house. Then again, most accidents happen to us either while we are at home or within 10 miles of our home. So, think about that. Be extra careful with your baby and you'll be just fine. I'm sure I'll be in the same boat when I get my $10,000+ Zcar project finished. But, I will definitely want to drive her. I think you might have a slight case of seasonal depression? The snow over there prevents you from driving the car... so, it's probably better to get rid of the temptation. But, heck man... when that snow melts and the sun is out, you'll be even more depressed when you can't drive that Z around! Believe me, I've been there. This car of mine has been under construction for more than 5 years. I really want to drive a Z again!!! Keep it!!! Sean Dezart Posted November 28, 2002 Share #7 Posted November 28, 2002 Hey Zfly Me - I hope your second car is a Z cos if you don't have her any more you are going to be sick if you ever cross a Z again in the street! I echo Mikes' thoughts that it's just the onset of winter, dark nights and bad weather Or else you're being sneaky and testing the water to see if you can realise enough dough for the next 'go-faster' project!I haven't driven a Zed (how it should be driven) for nearly six years and it's been eating away at me all that time. Girlfriends have come and gone, I ve moved countries twice but once you're bitten....My Z project is nearing it's completion and although I shall be running the bebette in all Spring, even at 40 mph there is NOTHING like driving a Zed!Keep it, selling it will only hurt more! Arizona240z Posted November 29, 2002 Share #9 Posted November 29, 2002 I sold a Z 10 years ago because I didn't have the time or the money to take care of her and the girlfriend at the time refused to ride in it with me....... It took me 10 years to get another one. It ate at me the whole time.D Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/3658-1971-240z-excellent-condition/#findComment-19976 Share on other sites
