I looked all over the internet, went to all the auto shops. Nobody has a unisyn flow meter. Im getting a bit desperate on tuning my twin su's. I only drive the car in the summer and Oregon rains ALL THE TIME.

If someone in the beaverton area can lend me one, tune my carbs. Or let me know someone who can tune them, Ztherapy? Salem is a long ways away to drive on un-tuned carbs.

I will pay anyone cash to tune my carbs. Or if anyone in Portland that can tune my car, that would be great.

If I had a flow meter, Id just do it myself.

I already replaced front main seal, output shaft seal and diff cover seal. My car is ready to rock!

I own both - a Unisyn and a Synchrometer.

My pick is:

We do get a club discount from MSA - give them you CZCC membership number and on most products you will get up to 10% off.

The Unisyn will fit in the air opening for a quick test but if I want a detailed air metering the entire air breather will come off, there is no adjustments on the Synchrometer - just put it up to the air opening and regardless of the RPM, the meter is dead on. Once you see the picture of both the choice is easy. Z Therapy may have both is stock, you would have to call to find out.

Salem is a long ways to drive on untuned carbs...... You'd be surprised to learn how many cars are driven for ever with poorly tuned carbs. ;)

Anway, we sell the Uni-Syn or Steve could set them for you. This is what I call a major crisis od minor proportions.... Call me if you want to take care of it.

I do agree we should all support the site vendors..

HOWEVER if you are desperate to get one locally, call a VW shop that works on air cooled stuff, then call our vendors to have a spare one on hand. (I dropped one once, was not a good experience).

As my teenagers say "wait wut?"

I didn't know anything about a discount. I must have spent $500 there this year.

I agree with Gary, what CZCC member dicount? I had no idea we got a 10% discount. Unlike Gary I have spent closer to $1500 this year alone. How do we get a number or how do we find out what our number is?

Try searching for "MSA discount"

I've never tuned SU carbs, but I've read a bit about tuning the Zenith Strombergs. They suggest a method for balancing the carbs that only takes a short length of rubber tubing. Just put one end of the tube to your ear, and hold the other end to the mouth of each carb. Adjust your throttle plate so that the hiss is equally loud from each carb. It might not be as accurate as with a flow meter, but it'll probably get you down the road until you get one.
