Panic.attack.77 Posted July 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2010 Well, got my Sandra Dee on the road today- and what a thrill! Final touch was replacing the battery, bought a Duralast Gold w/750 cold cranking amps, 935 cranking amps and 130 reserve minutes.. now it fits my car just fine- but is this too big for this application? Should I return it for a smaller one w/lower CCA or cranking amps? I don't want to damage the system- but on another note, the car likes the juice and gave me what she had! Mikez73 Posted July 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 25, 2010 If it fits it isn't too big I think I have the same one in my car. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/36606-correct-battery-size-cca/#findComment-326417 Share on other sites

Z train Posted July 26, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 26, 2010 Batteries are one of the few things were the biggest one is the right one. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/36606-correct-battery-size-cca/#findComment-326442 Share on other sites
EScanlon Posted July 26, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 26, 2010 It's the physical SIZE of the battery that's important. That's where the Group 24 comes in.Too many CCA's is like saying you have too many HP's... If you use them judiciously and not punch the throttle all the time, all you'll get is better and longer use.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/36606-correct-battery-size-cca/#findComment-326454 Share on other sites

TomoHawk Posted July 26, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 26, 2010 This is the secondtime here I've read about someone thinking that too many CCAs might hurt the car. What makes you think that?
