OK..... do you know why I'm posting here? You guessed it i finally got my own Z-car. I am the proud new owner of a beautiful blue 280z its model year is 1976. Ecstatic doesn't describe the feeling you get when behind the wheel of this beast. My 280 story probably starts when I drove out to Tennessee with my dad when I was in high school to pick up his first car. A brown 78 he had parked in a barn about 16 years previous. Even though his was left in a field for years after his "friend" put it out to pasture with the cows after the long awaited pick up, i fell in love immediately, the elegant lines the low sporty feel and the overall aura thrown off the car even one half sunk in mud, I was hooked. I started researching them and have been looking at them on this site and others always checking ebay, craigslist , etc... but never really finding one that i could afford. Fast forward a few years and m dad tells me he just bought this 76 280 from Beverly Hills, he showed me some pics and for some reason offered it to me I said yes in a about a half second. The Car was shipped from CA to TN, and last Wednesday I flew out to Tennessee and drove the 900 miles back to Annapolis MD. It Handled beautifully the entire way home and the ride went off without a hitch the entire way back. This is my first post (even though I've been on the site hundreds of times) but I feel like you guys and girls are going to be hearing a lot from me over the next few years I intend to keep this car for the long haul. For the time being I just want to get everything in perfect working order and take everything back to stock quality status and restore the car to its original splendor. For the most part everything's great but its got the usual rattles and failing seals that seem to be normal for a car this age. The only mods I am even going to think about are maybe the aerodynamics, brakes, and suspension before I get a good feel for the real characteristics of the car i just want to be a great owner for it. Thanks for listening I feel like this has been years in the making but.... Its arrived

Oh yeah and if anyone in the MD DC VA area has anything to say about Banzai Motorworks in upper marlboro MD I'd be glad to hear your opinion of the shop he seems to be the closest mechanic to me with an affinity for the Z cars his website is zzxdatsun.com
