Hey fellow Z car lovers,

names Eli. Just wanted to say whats up and introduce myself. I bought my first and only Z (1978) about a year ago and have not been able to afford working on it until now. Lifes been pretty chaotic so it's been hard to do much of anything really. But finally things are settling down and I'm wanting to tackle this beast of a project and pump some life back into this sleeping beauty. Only one real problem...I've never worked on a car before. :stupid:

I REALLY need someone wiser and more experienced than me to take a look at the car. So I've come here hoping one of my fellow Z enthusiastic will be able to size up my project car. If all goes right perhaps I will lour one of you pour souls out to Apple Valley to have a few beers and take a look under the hood.

At this point I'm really just trying to get an idea what I'm in for.

Anyway yeah names Eli and I guess if I had to say a few things about myself I'd just say I'm a good down to earth person who looks like a out of control maniac. LOL Try not to judge me by my avatar, I know some people see a red mohawk, piercings and tattoos and think I'm some kind of weirdo. Well true enough I might be a bit odd looking but I'm just another person trying to get by just like you.

So yeah if you have any questions feel free to ask, my friend told me everyone here is pretty cool people.

-Eli

Hi Eli: welcome, nice to see another local guy joining, I am in Pomona, which considered Inland Empire as well. I have been toying with Datsuns since I was 16, so I may have a few helpful tips for you when you need them, this club is also a great resource, good luck and welcome once again.

Thanks Shade! Me too man, I need to get that beast on the road within a month hopefully. I'm sure it will break down on me sooner or later and need lots of work over the years to come but I just need some basic transportation. LOL

Can't wait to cherry this baby out either. Man I love these cars.

well you came to the right plance. some of these guys can tell you right off the bat minor stuff to do to keep it in good running condition, like adjusting TPS, right spark plugs. timing stuff, sensor stuff like the temp sensor, if its broken you'll run rich and crappy.. bad connectors and so on. search around theres a ton of crap like that on here.
