Hi ThorZ,

The Z you imported from the US is most likely labeled as a 1971 model even though it was manufactured in 1970 (does VIN tag say Dec, 1970)

It is also born only 23 vehicles after my Series I 240Z.

This a great site for historical and technical info on the early Z-cars.

yes you are right. My car is from 12/1970, a 1971 model.

Very nice job on the resto. I like the luggage bar in the back area. I remember the taxi driver telling us about the huge fines for speeding or driving on the left side of the road. I am curious, do you have to pass safety or emmision inspections for antique cars in Germany?

Hello Rick,

thanks for your reply. Of course I need a permit for this antique car. But there are exception permits for cars which are more than 30 years old. So I didn't have to modify anything in view of safety or emmisions.

Greetings Thor from your neigbor in Denmark, where in Germany are you located?

Your car look nice, that's the third orange Z i know of in Germany, is orange a German habbit?

Why don't the stoch radio work in Germany, is it a AM only?, i have the stock AM/FM radio in mine and it works fine, just can't hear anything due to exhaust and triples.

I was fortunate to have been able to have a conversation with you and Max at the ZCON. I enjoyed our talk tremendously. You certainly picked the right convention to travel to the US to attend. I agree with Mike B that it will be very difficult to repeat the experience we had in Nashville until maybe 2020 for the 50th Anniverssary of the Z car .

It's not only because of the car. Z owners and drivers are a great community, a unique family. You will not find this so often among other brands. That's what I learned in Nashville. And I'm glad and thankful to participate. The 50th Anniversary will be a fantastic party!

Hi Chris, greetings to Denmark. Another orange 240 Z I have ever seen in German is one of the vintage 240 Z, owner is Nissan Europe. Don't know why but this Mexican 918 orange fits perfectly to this car like other colors of course too.

The problem with the radio is the radio frequency identification. The OEM does not work. Curious, isn't it.

I'm located in the southwest next to Baden-Baden. Where are you from?
