Zs-ondabrain Posted September 20, 2010 Share #13 Posted September 20, 2010 2 red with black stripe wires. Follow them from the lower firewall (the engine harness) back toward the tranny. They have open bullet connectors on them. The switch is on the passenger side of the tranny and around the middle.Already covered it. Those are the reverse light wires. PO obviously messed up. Test them as stated above and go from there. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/36945-reverse-lights-dont-work/?page=2#findComment-331333 Share on other sites

Jeff G 78 Posted September 29, 2010 Share #15 Posted September 29, 2010 I *believe* the neutral wires are there on all cars, but they are only used on the automatics for most years. I've only had one manual box with a neutral switch, but I think they have all had the wires. raltz Posted September 29, 2010 Author Share #16 Posted September 29, 2010 i do have a manual, do you think it would be safe just to connect the two, and tuck it away, without having a switch, i have no place to connect them to, thanks again! Jeff G 78 Posted September 29, 2010 Share #17 Posted September 29, 2010 There is a flexible wire harness clip on the body near the connectors. Simply hook the unused harness in the clip and bend the tangs. It can stay that way forever.
