76 280Z shuting off while driving

Recommended Posts

On the way home 7 miles total, my Z shut off going around 40mph two times> After coasting over to the side of the road it would immediatly start right up like there was no problem. Needless to say I can't get it to do this in my garage. Any ideas.... its almost like some gremlin turns the key off. Thanks for any replys.

Do a search here for ECM issues.Could be a simple 10 minute solder job.I did a write-up last year on the same issue you're having.

Had a Maxima that did the same thing. Matchbook module on the distributor would heat up and shut down and by the time I'd coast into somewhere to check things out it have cooled off enough to work again. Much prefer the remote module set-up......

im having the same problem...where can i find the fuel pump relay? and what does it look like...thank you
The OP's car is fuel injected. Yours, according to your profile, isn't. I'm sure you're not having the 'same' problem in that your car is shutting off, but the reason would not be the same. Edited by sblake01
