Perfect240Z Posted August 12, 2011 Author Share #205 Posted August 12, 2011 I haven't posted any pics in awhile, l have the car mostly stripped of all the electrics and interior. Motor is ready to be pulled, I just have to keep at chipping away that damn old sound deadner. After the motor is out I can really start sanding away at the body, their are some small holes on the fenders and door of the car, kind of like their was some molding or something was across the whole car, holes follow a line all the way from rear to front. Def some rust because of those damn holes and the damn sticky molding I pealed off. Well Im going to try and get some work done on the car while the wife is sleeping(then she can't be mad lolLOL). Still trying to figure out the 100 psi pressure not being able to be put in the block without the crank turning. Perfect240Z Posted December 30, 2011 Author Share #206 Posted December 30, 2011 Its been awhile since I made a post. I'll make one tonight. Almost ready to start stripping the paint off the car. And many parts picked up! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/37974-first-time-z-owner/?page=18#findComment-375826 Share on other sites
Perfect240Z Posted December 31, 2011 Author Share #207 Posted December 31, 2011 Well it's been months since I've had an update on here. The car is almost ready for me to start stripping the paint and patching up some minor holes. I found out that the car was in an accident at some point when I saw the wrinkle damage behind the fender. So i'll have to cut and weld in another piece soon. It was covered by bondo painted black...It wasn't even flat and smooth, guess they thought someone wouldn't look at that. I also got some parts purchased during this time of missed updates. I purchased 6-1 ceramic coated headers, I picked up a N42 cylinder thats in great condition and just needs to be assembled, I also got a F54 turbo block that has the complete rotating assembly, it has dished pistons though, so Im not sure if I have to change those to a different kind if I use my N42 head and triple mikunis. I really want to get those, I also want to get some new Su's which will be difference in...well at least 1500 bucks. So we'll see how this tax return looks this year Any advice please shot some my way, here's some pictures of the car now as it stands. Perfect240Z Posted April 11, 2013 Author Share #208 Posted April 11, 2013 It has been has been many moons since I've posted on this thread. I have been working on the Z, but it is still not done yet. I have about 90% of all the paint off the car, I have ordered new panels to cut and weld everything that is damaged (rear fenders, hatch panel, and lower bumper panel). I have a good E31 head with the upgraded steal valve seats purchased from a fellow member. It is starting to get warm out and I tend to work more on the car the warmer it is. Im going to try ad give a call to air/gas tomorrow to order my ar/co2 gas for the welding. Im also looking into renting a dry ice blaster to get all the little corners that are just impossible to get to. I've been contacting racing labs for Rota Rb 16x8 +4 in gold w/ polished lip. Unfortunately everytime I contacted them they said check back, after so many times emailing them I asked if they do special orders, they actually don't do special orders. But after doing some reading on here, I found out that 18racing.com will do special orders, so I will be ordering the rims from them. I don't need them per say, but If I can get my wheels, I can sell the other rims that I have off of my Z now which are the Enkie 92's. The color of the rims will go great with the color im painting my car...British racing green. I chose this color a long time ago, but I don't know which version I'll be using whether its Jag, Lotus, or Miata BRG. Here are some much needed photos of what the car is looking like right now. I'll have to go to my other computer to upload more photos. Perfect240Z Posted April 13, 2013 Author Share #213 Posted April 13, 2013 You have two Z's and enough parts to make another 2 . I have a two car garage but can't fit another car because of the table with all my tools and parts on it. I'll post a better picture later. Jonathon Anthony Posted April 30, 2013 Share #215 Posted April 30, 2013 Sorry for butting in on your thread. I am getting used to using the forum and accidentally replied to your thread instead of posting a new one. By the way you got a heck of a deal for a great car and I wish you best of luck for your restoration process.
