Hello all. My name is Scott and I'm from the Reno area in northern Nevada. I've recently gotten my hands on a '73 240Z. Over the past 30 or so years I've owned a '70 Fairlady Z, a '72 240Z, a '73 240Z and a '74 260Z. My current '73 is my fifth first generation Z, but the first one I've had in 13 years. I've been away for far too long. I'm looking forward to chatting with you. Cheers, Scott

Thanks for the warm welcome, Guys. I've oft heard it said that you always come back to your first true love... The 240Z is mine. After all the years, and all the sports cars, I had to have another Z. It's where my heart belongs... I still have alot to learn about these beautiful CLASSIC sports cars, and that's part of the reason that I'm here. In the interest of disclosure, my DD is a 1986 BMW 635CSi. I love that one too. However, IMHO most cars built after about '85 or '86 ain't got no soul. The first gen Z's represent my youth. Good times... Damn good times. There's a long story behind my ownership of this particular Z, but that's another story for another thread... She's still Z one. Cheers, Scott

Scott -

Welcome. My first taste of Z fever was in 1978 with a white '73. I've had the fever in my blood for a few decades as well! Much like you, after many of the different styles of Datsun's and Nissan's, I had tome come back to be basic's as well.

This is a great site with a bunch of great guys that all share the passion of Datsun Z ownership! Almost any topic you can think of has been discussed and some great successful resolutions that can make your current Z as good or better than when it rolled off the factory floor 40 years ago. Best of luck with your current project and get some of those pictures posted - just like Gary said "past and present"!!

I feel you. IMO, the 1st gen Z is still one of the most aesthetically pleasing shapes in automotive design.
