SportBikeMike Posted February 19, 2011 Share #13 Posted February 19, 2011 Thats a beautiful car. Providing there's no rust in any of the hidden areas, I'd say the price is pretty reasonable. FastWoman Posted February 19, 2011 Share #14 Posted February 19, 2011 Sure. Seems reasonable. If you get hard into negotiations, offer to throw in a good camera. IdahoKidd Posted February 19, 2011 Share #15 Posted February 19, 2011 Drive through paint job. Wonder if a magnet will stick to it? Daishi_GD Posted February 20, 2011 Share #19 Posted February 20, 2011 Outer doesn't look too bad but keep in mind these car rot from the inside-out. Frame rails are a big one to lookout for(look at it from inside the front wheel wells and under the car). Check out the rear tire well too. Pics related. IdahoKidd Posted February 20, 2011 Share #20 Posted February 20, 2011 Judging from the surface rust visible, there is likely substantial rust under the car. The paint is terrible. 5150 will Posted February 20, 2011 Share #21 Posted February 20, 2011 I think you could do much better for $5500. Be patient. There are quite a few Z's in the Bay/Sacramento area that I've seen for less money that seem a lot nicer than that one. That cheesey paint job would be enough to make me run for the hills. LeonV Posted February 20, 2011 Share #22 Posted February 20, 2011 Looks like they tried to cover up rust with paint, there is much more lurking underneath. I would not touch that car at the asking price. olzed Posted February 20, 2011 Share #23 Posted February 20, 2011 Run a mile. Don't be swayed by the triple Webbers, and the wheels or the brakes etc. They add nothing to value, IMHO. The body looks like trouble.Dash is stuffed. Holes in door cards. All stuff that devalues.Brian. esmit208 Posted February 20, 2011 Share #24 Posted February 20, 2011 DAMAGEI would tend to agree with a few others. Rarely is it a good idea to buy someone else's performance project. If you bought one that is all stock you can personalize it the way you want. This is your first time buying a car of this sort then it is probably a better idea to get one that is completely stock. The car that you have showed pictures of will probably have some issues that are not common with stock vehicles. The fact that the rear bumper was not installed would be enough to turn on a RED LIGHT for me. Chances are some other corners have been cut as far as completing the car. I would try to find one all stock be it 240-260-280-ZX.
