I'd love to see more of these vintage photos!

These aren't necessarily vintage photos, but were taken at the 2004

ZCON in Los Angeles. You may recognize the gentleman posing next to my car as Matsuo San, the designer of the 240Z.

The last several attachments are pages of an article featuring my car published in the book shown. If anyone can provide a translation of this article for me, please let me know.

I think that these pictures are a pretty good representation of the original 918

orange used by Datsun.

Below is a link to a previous discussion on 918 Orange. PPG is not the only choice when it comes to closely matching the 918 color- Dupont Chromo-based paint using a 2-stage process (base then a clear coat) is another alternative.

Here's an update on PPG.... What they call the 918 'original formula' looks much too brown when applied full strength. If you use PPG you may need to adjust the amount of 'black' in the formula.

You may want to contact Thorsten (thorz), a member on this site, if you want to see an amazing 918 Z.

I will PM you with more information.

Also, something you may be interested in is that in 2003 Nissan did a limited edition color run on the Xterra here in the states. The color was called Atomic Orange (color code A16 I believe) and I purchased a tube of touch up paint from the dealer and used it on a few spots on the Z... Identical color.

Anybody else tried this color, Atomic Orange, on #918?
