BadDog Posted May 24, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2011 I've seen the 16X7 size for sale with these color names listed seemingly interchangeably. The Konig site lists only Graphite. Are they one in the same?I've seen pictures that show Graphite as a lighter grey, and the few Gunmetal pictures seem darker, which I like. joker72z Posted May 25, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 25, 2011 My Konigs were graphite when I bought them from MSA. I think they are one and the same color depending on who you are talking to. d240zx2 Posted May 25, 2011 Share #4 Posted May 25, 2011 Mine are graphite. Pick whichever looks better to you with your paint color. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/39662-konig-rewinds-gunmetal-vs-graphite/#findComment-356819 Share on other sites
Zedyone_kenobi Posted May 25, 2011 Share #5 Posted May 25, 2011 Joker, I have told you before, but I completely fall in love with that black car every time I see it! Bravo. Remind me again, are those 15's or 16's. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/39662-konig-rewinds-gunmetal-vs-graphite/#findComment-356823 Share on other sites
joker72z Posted May 27, 2011 Share #6 Posted May 27, 2011 They are 15's with a 195/55/15 tire, lowered using the eibach kit from MSA as well. My 260Z is going in for paint and I'm hoping it looks as good as yours when finished. I am going to run the 15" Swastikas fully polished and the new chrome bumpers so I hope it turns out as nice as your car looks.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/39662-konig-rewinds-gunmetal-vs-graphite/#findComment-356961 Share on other sites
BadDog Posted May 27, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted May 27, 2011 Thanks everyone. I confirmed that the names are interchangeable. Ordered some gunmetal 16×7 wheels with Falkens this morning. joker72z Posted May 27, 2011 Share #8 Posted May 27, 2011 Awesome, I don't think you will be disappointed with them at all. I bet they will look sweet on a silver car as well. Can't wait to see them on..it may inspire me to change mine again.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/39662-konig-rewinds-gunmetal-vs-graphite/#findComment-356973 Share on other sites

BadDog Posted May 27, 2011 Author Share #10 Posted May 27, 2011 I'll try to post some pics after I mount them. I'm guessing it'll take a couple extra days due to the holiday... BadDog Posted June 3, 2011 Author Share #12 Posted June 3, 2011 They arrived at my workplace yesterday morning from Discount Tire Direct. I cut the cardboard and padding off of the first one, and loved to see that dark color and deep polished lip.I put them on last night and set them to 35 P.S.I. Couldn't go for a quick test-spin because it was late and I didn't want to disturb the neighbors.I had two nice long drives today, about an hour each way. The steering felt more lively/responsive than my old 14×7 with 215/60 combo. It was hard to really tell though, because it was extremely windy all day and my car was being pushed all over the road. The 215/55 tires make for a nice, smooth, comfortable ride. They really fill up the wheel well (I have Tokico HP struts and springs). There is no move rubbing in the back over large bumps, but the fronts rubbed the valence a little when backing up and turning. The valence was already banged up a little from the original owner, so I didn't feel too bad about "massaging" them a little bit more to clear.I couldn't get great pics because of the lighting, but I'll post some soon!
