oranngetang Posted May 25, 2015 Share #99 Posted May 25, 2015 Lumens, does that exhaust sticking out that little bit extra help with in cab fumes with the windows down? siteunseen Posted May 25, 2015 Share #100 Posted May 25, 2015 I have the Rewinds too, 15x7 with 205/50s. 16s rubbed on my lowered 240 so I put them on the 280. oranngetang Posted May 25, 2015 Share #101 Posted May 25, 2015 Looks good, how lowered would you say that is? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/40131-the-official-post-pictures-of-your-wheels-thread/?page=9#findComment-470495 Share on other sites
siteunseen Posted May 25, 2015 Share #102 Posted May 25, 2015 I honestly don't know but side by side with my other 240 it looks to be about 2" lower. The previous owner had the springs cut. oranngetang Posted May 25, 2015 Share #103 Posted May 25, 2015 Would you safely assume this car is lower than 2" then? Rota RKR-F 17x8.5-0 / Federal 595 235/40R17. siteunseen Posted May 25, 2015 Share #104 Posted May 25, 2015 Hard to tell with 17s in there but they look great. Those fit without any modifications? My front tires rubbed the outer edge of the fender when I turned real tight. oranngetang Posted May 25, 2015 Share #105 Posted May 25, 2015 The overall tire diameter is all that's relevant. The 17" wheel doesn't matter. I'd have to do check but my guess is your tires are about 1/2" under and mine are 1/2" over the original 14" equivalents. You can put 20 inch wheels on a 240Z if you want to. gundee Posted May 25, 2015 Share #107 Posted May 25, 2015 Lumens, does that exhaust sticking out that little bit extra help with in cab fumes with the windows down? Not one bit. But it helps to keep the bumper from rotting out on that side. I found my exhaust fume leak but I will have to find an exhaust leak threadto post what I found. No more fumes at all. oranngetang Posted May 26, 2015 Share #108 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) To answer the question, at speed a dip in the road will cause me to bump the inside of the arches. The lips clear, and have never rubbed, front or back and I havnt rolled or otherwise modified the fenders in anyway. Also, the front a-arms are length adjustable, so they can aid in camber/track and clearance as required.235's fit well on my car, I think 245's would be tight. That said this tire fits wide, like most 245's would.Modifications that are relevant to this fitment are 2.5" coils on a GC suspension kit, and significant camber. If I flattened out the camber, I'm sure the rears would rub the lips.-can't belive how I need to edit nearly every post because of Samsung's insanely poor autocorrwction. <--- I actually typed autocorrection there.
