CW240Z Posted August 20, 2011 Author Share #13 Posted August 20, 2011 Blue, how on earth did you separate the two parts of the booster? All I do is bend studs! CW240Z Posted August 21, 2011 Author Share #14 Posted August 21, 2011 So i got the booster apart with a moderate amount of bleeding and fussing.... Turns out that the diaphragm is torn and in fairly bad shape but all there. What could I do about that? Would a 280z diaphragm work? Is there something I could fix it with? Or is this the end of my booster?:disappoin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/40543-another-brake-booster-question/?page=2#findComment-364481 Share on other sites
240260280z Posted August 21, 2011 Share #15 Posted August 21, 2011 Not sure about parts that can swap. Whole boosters can swap though. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/40543-another-brake-booster-question/?page=2#findComment-364498 Share on other sites

240260280z Posted August 22, 2011 Share #17 Posted August 22, 2011 Yup, Even a 280zx will fit. You may have to drill some holes for the larger ones. Here is a big 280zx on an early 240z Before and After: Drill holes Clearance and Fit of Big 280zx booster. Note the 280z booster is smaller. CW240Z Posted August 22, 2011 Author Share #18 Posted August 22, 2011 Thanks Blue, good to know I can use one of them if I need to. I just discovered that a local Autozone store by my house has the booster for my car for $113.00 with the core. If there isn't one there in stock Ill go with either Racepages or the used 280z one I found. Thanks!
