"Space Saver" spare for the S30 spare compartment

Recommended Posts

This may have been answered somewhere along the way but I haven't found it yet. Has anyone tried one of the "space saver"/'donut spares" from a late model vehicle in the spare tire well in a 70-78 Z? More specifically a 75? Just wondering if one would fit. I have converted to 5 lug so it has to be one with a 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern.

I use a zx space saver spare in my 73. I keep a little 12v air pump to inflate it. Its held down with the same screw in clamp.

It leaves enough room in the spare tire well for all of the "other" spares I carry around just in case. ...(fuel pump, E12-80 module, coil, a few plugs, baloney sandwich, the usual stuff).

How often does your baloney sandwich fail mid-flight?
