Hi Alan,

Still looking for the licence reference. Here is Hiroshi Iida's comment. He worked in Nissan's Second Engine Unit designing the L6's:

"Mr. Iida said that they used the Mercedes Benz OHC design, wherein 12 valves are driven by a single over head cam shaft via adjustable rocker arms. The Cam is driven by a double row, roller chain with power taken off the crankshaft."
