casterguy Posted December 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2011 Bought my first Z, a '73 with 28000 miles in 1975, Silver, 4 speed, slotted mags, I installed Marshal SEV's and Muholland shocks- paid $4200.00. Car was great. The seller also gave me the stock wheels, tires, hubcaps and 2 snow tires/steel wheels. had vapor lock issues in the summer. Car eventually rusted away, huge 8" hole in the driver side floor! Traded it on a 78 280 with a 5 speed, light blue with louvers, paid $10,800.00 and got $1800.00 for the 240. A great GT, A/c and that 5 speed was super. Three years later, got hit by a drunk driver and the car was a total loss- luckily I was not hurt but the drunk was. Then bought a used 79 two tone silver blue ZX which developed electrical problems. This is a great forum and I'm happy to see so many Z Car fans!:classic:I think I'll be getting back into a Z, the ideal situation, a 240 with a 280 five speed.Any thoughts or comments most welcome. psdenno Posted December 22, 2011 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2011 A 240Z with a 5 speed is slick. However, a 240Z with any functioning transmission is a great car to own. Good luck with the search!Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/41708-back-in-the-day/#findComment-375203 Share on other sites
